It's a rather special week for Argentina legend Diego Armando Maradona, as the former Boca Juniors, Barcelona and Napoli attacker has a landmark to celebrate when he turns 50 this Saturday. Maradona was born in Lanus on 30 October 1960.
Maradona is regarded as the best player in the world by many football fans, even though Brazilian legend Pele will certainly have a different opinion on this subject.
The forward started his career at Argentinos Juniors and moved on to Boca Juniors in 1981. He also played at Barcelona, Napoli, Sevilla and Newell's Old Boys before returning to Boca Juniors in 1995.
Additionally, Pelusa played at four different World Cups, lifting the trophy on one occasion in 1986.
