Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a return move for former assistant manager Carlos Quieroz.
The 57-year-old was sacked as Portugal coach in September and, according to The Daily Mail, Sir Alex Ferguson wants to bring his former assistant back to Old Trafford.
Quieroz is well thought of at United and is popular with a number of the players and backroom staff.
Sir Alex Ferguson is happy with current assistants Mike Phelan and Rene Meulensteen, but there is a belief that room could still be found for Quieroz to add his experience, linguistic skills and meticulous planning.
Quieroz's first stint at Manchester United started in 2002 and lasted a season before he left to take over as coach at Real Madrid.
After a unsuccessful spell at the Bernabeu he returned to Old Trafford for a further four years and in that time helped bring a more international feel to United's transfer policy, before leaving again - this time for the national job.
